Rene and Marcel Aerts
Brussels
René (1883–1942) and Marcel Aerts (1910–1976) were Belgian violin makers from the Mirecourt tradition. René founded a Brussels atelier in 1921 and later moved to Los Angeles, while Marcel trained under prominent luthiers and joined his father in the U.S. Their instruments, modeled after the old masters, are valued for craftsmanship and tonal quality.
