Doriane Bodart

Doriane Bodart (b. 1972) A distinguished French bow maker based in Paris, Bodart grew up immersed in a family of luthiers and artists. Her apprenticeship began in 1994 under Gilles Duhaut in Mirecourt and continued with Pierre Guillaume in Brussels and Stéphane Thomachot in Paris. Since establishing her workshop in Montparnasse in 1999, she has crafted bows in the French tradition for professional musicians across Europe and the U.S. Bodart has won multiple accolades, including the Grand Prize at Viola’s International Competition (2019) and certificates from the Violin Society of America (2022), and served on international competition juries.
