DÖTSCH, Michael Born 1874 Novy Zdár (Neuenbrand) Czech Republic, died 1940 Berlin Germany. Apprenticed to Michael Kohlbacher in Luby (Schönbach). Worked in various ateliers throughout Europe 1894-1908. Settled with Lachman in Berlin 1909-1914, before opening his own business in Wilmersdorf, Berlin 1914. Gold medals awarded at Berlin 1922. Uncanny copyist of Italian originals, particularly Neapolitan models. Very accurately observed and authentically reproduced. Many already flying under false colours. Michael Dötsch / Berlin.W. 1920
