Biographies

John Dilworth

LAPIERRE, Marcel Charles Born 1907, died 1979 Mirecourt France. Bow maker. Apprenticed with J. Thibouville-Lamy 1921-1923. Worked for Brouillier & Lotte c.1926, for F. Lotte 1931-1936, subsequently employed by L. Bazin, Morizot Frères, and briefly E. A. Ouchard 1946. In 1947 he worked for Vidoudez in Geneva, and finally established himself independently in Mirecourt 1948, in rue Vuillaume and later on rue Gambetta. Late work from c.1970 is a little coarse. Round and octagonal sticks, branded: M. LAPIERRE, M. LAPIERRE à MIRECOURT, M. CH. LAPIERRE [Millant/Raffin]
