John Dilworth
PINEAU, Joseph Born 1881, d. after 1938 Niort France. Pupil of A. Tolbecque from 1896. Worked for 15 years for Gustave Bernardel. Established independently in Faubourg Saint Martin, Paris 1925. Later moved to rue Legendre. Elected ‘Ouvrier d’art’ 1901 and in 1938 awarded diploma as the best craftsman in France. Stradivari models. First class work, materials, and varnish. Branded internally.
