Paul Clement Jombar

Paris, 1868–1949

Pupil of Audinot 1882-1886. Subsequently worked for Gand and Bernardel. Established independently from 1892 at 20 rue Rochechouart, then at 27 rue de Faubourg Poissonière, and finally 37 rue de Rome. Created ‘Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur’ in 1901. — John Dilworth

JOMBAR, Paul Clément Born 1868, died 1949, Worked Paris France. Pupil of Audinot 1882-1886. Subsequently worked for Gand and Bernardel. Established independently from 1892 at 20 rue Rochechouart, then at 27 rue de Faubourg Poissonière, and finally 37 rue de Rome. Created ‘Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur’ in 1901. Distinguished work on Stradivari and Guarneri models. Also fine bows. Paul Jombar / 20 Rue Rochechouart. Schüler von Domin. Nestor Audinot, bei dem er von 1882—1886 blieb. Hierauf gehörte er zu den hervorragendsten Arbeitern von Gand & Bernardel und machte sich 1892
selbständig. Seine Arbeit ist sehr geschmackvoll u. seine Geigen zeichnen sich durch Klangschönheit aus. Im Jahre 1901 erhielt er die Ehrenlegion.
